Well, the non-cynical answer would be that in the Dome era (1997-Present) the focus has been on squeezing out runs while leaning heavily on the pitching staff. That being said, the most successful period for the team was when there was a very good offensive core. ベルーナドームを激しく嫌う人と、かなり好きな人の2パターンしか出会ったことがないのが面白い。自分にとっては安くて行きやすい場所なのに、最近は全く行かなくなっちゃったな。
I find it interesting that there's really only two categories of people I've run into, those that hate Belluna with a passion and those who quite like it. Even though it's cheap and easy for me to go to, I never go there these days
主な不満点としては、7月と8月は文字通りサウナ状態になることと、立地が一部のファンにとっては不便なこと。それ以外は良いところだよ。確かに少し古びてはいる。でも、魂の抜けた密閉型ドーム球場よりも個性があるし、何よりもファミリー層に優しいと思う。屋内外に複数の遊び場があって、子供が運転席に座って運転手ごっこができる電車もあるし、多くの試合後にグラウンドを走り回れる無料のフィールドウォークも体験できるんだ。
The major knocks against it are that it's a literal sauna in July & August and the location poses a challenge for some fans. Otherwise it's fine. A bit dated, sure. But it has more character than a soulless enclosed dome stadium would, and -very importantly- I find it to be family friendly. Multiple play areas (inside and outside), a train car where kids can sit in the cab and pretend to be the driver, and a free field walk experience after many games for more running around.
私も好きだな。電車に乗っている時間から楽しい気分にさせてくれるし、駅から球場までのフェスティバルみたいな雰囲気も最高だ。確かに中はめちゃくちゃ蒸し暑いこともあるけど、球場での体験自体はポジティブなものだよ。西武の球団組織はスカウトに対して敬意を払ってくれるし、対応も非常に早くてプロフェッショナルだね。
I do also. The train ride sets you up for a fun experience, and the carnival atmosphere en route to the ballpark from the train is enjoyable. Yes, it can be extremely hot and humid inside, but the ballpark experience is positive. Their baseball group is respectful to scouts, and highly responsive and professional.
確かに埼玉は東京から遠いけれど、暑さと湿気に関しては明らかに神宮の勝ちだね、これだけは間違いない。親切に返信してくれてありがとう。
Saitama is far from Tokyo, for sure, although clearly Jingu wins when it comes to hot and humid, there is absolutely no doubt of this. I appreciate your kind response.
マリーンズと言えば、勝っても負けてもすごく陽気に盛り上がる地元ファンの応援で一番よく知られているんじゃないかな。（あと最高のスタジアムがあることだけど、これは偏愛交じりの主張だね）
I think the marines are probably most well known for home grown support that's pretty cheery win or lose. (and having the best stadium but that's a biased assertion)
海浜幕張駅への行き帰りの散歩が楽しいし、駅のショップやレストランも大好きだよ。
I enjoy the walk to and from Keihin-Makuhara station, and love the station's shops and restaurants.
阪神のファン層は声がデカくて威勢が良く、相手選手だけでなく、自分たちの選手（期待通りのパフォーマンスをしていないと感じた場合）にも最もヤジを飛ばしがちだ。一般的に彼らのアイデンティティは『巨人のライバル』だけど、巨人側はあまりそうは思っていない様子だな。
Hanshin fanbase are loud and brash and most prone to yell insults to both opposing players and also their own (if they think they’re underperforming). In general their identity is ‘Giant’s rival’ but the feeling is not quite mutual.
最近NPBを見始めてタイガースを応援チームに選んだから、そろそろそういうキャラクターになりきった方が良さそうだなw

Lots of good comparisons have been made. Hawks are spending and developing smart like the Dodgers. Giants have the historical success and huge following like the Yankees. Tigers have a big fanbase and historic stadium like the Cubs. Swallows get overlooked like the Mets as the second major team in central Tokyo. Baystars kind of have an Orioles vibe. 大阪に住んでいると、試合に向かうオリックスのファンを見かけることはめったにない（ファンの数自体が多くないし、グッズを堂々と身につけていない）。でも、公共交通機関ではどこに行ってもタイガースのファンを見かける。あと、全身タイガースのグッズで固めた、何というか…『個性的な人たち』も電車やバスにかなりたくさん乗っているよ。
Living in Osaka you rarely see Orix fans on their way to games ( there aren't that many and they aren't proudly displaying their gear ) , I see Tigers fans on public transport everywhere. There are also quite a lot of erm. 'characters' on public transport fully decked out in Tigers gear.
そうそう、タイガースファンは遠征試合のときにその地域を完全に乗っ取っちゃうんだよね。本当にすごい。大阪の試合日の様子なんて想像もつかないよ。神宮やベルーナでバファローズのファンもそこそこ見かけたけれど、平日の横浜でのタイガースファンとは比べものにならないね。
Yeah, Tigers fans do a takeover of the local area when they travel for games. Very impressive. I can't imagine what it looks like in Osaka on gameday. I saw decent numbers of Buffaloes fans at Meiji and Belluna but nothing like Tigers on a weekday in Yokohama.
