Hasn't he had an issue with the mound a couple times this season, all in different ballparks? I remember the theory being that his stride is so long that he lands on a part of the mound that isn't packed as tightly.

昨日は雨が降っていて、グラウンドクルーはマウンドを修復したけど、ミズ独特の踏み込み位置までは手が回らなかったんだと思う。実際あそこまで届くのは彼くらいだしね。彼が基本的に柔らかい泥の中に着地していたという記事やツイッターの投稿があったよ。

Pretty sure there was rain yesterday and the crew fixed the mound but didn’t quite treat Miz’s specific landing spot which tbf only he really reaches. There was an article/twitter blog that said he was basically landing in soft mud.

I feel like it'd be impossible to fix the mound given the rain in the first 2 innings yesterday. Especially since his velo started at like ~100-101 and only dipped when the rain was coming down a bit harder

I think it's because his stride is so long he lands in an area that is mostly looser dirt rather than the well-worn landing spot that most guys hit that is mostly clay from game-to-game repairs Citi Field isn't the first mound he's had issues with and it won't be the last. I totally get that he wants to be completely comfortable out there simply for his own health and well being. I also don't think he has any issues with the teams or grounds crews, he just wants to be safe
