The Rays are a well run org but don’t have a high likelihood of winning the WS any time soon. As a fan, seeing the best player who ever lived play for your team for 1-2 seasons beats having a marginally better, yet still meager, chance to win the WS in the long run.

He would've had to be 1B or DH. Ramirez is one of the best, if not the best, 3B of our generation. As much as I would hate it in hindsight if I was a Guardian fan, I absolutely understand the move. You weren't going to be limiting Ramirez's ABs or time on the field for an unproven 20-year old.

Eh. I kinda feel like Yoshinobu would have gone to whatever team Ohtani was on, or at least heavily favored them... With Ohtani the Angels were a roughly .500 team. Yamamoto could have at least got you guys into the playoffs, and who knows what could happen once you're in. We know Ohtani and Yamamoto can have enormous playoff moments.
