ムーキーは最高だよ。何年か前の職場で、夜に週2回、障害を持つ大人の方たちをボウリングに連れていく仕事をしてたんだ。
そしたらある晩、なんとムーキーが1人でボウリングしに来ててさ。うちのグループは大騒ぎでムーキーのことばかり話してたけど、スタッフとオレは邪魔しないようにしてたんだ。
別にそんなことする必要ないのに、ムーキーはわざわざ少し顔を出して挨拶して、みんなとグータッチしてから自分の用に戻っていった。義理なんて全くないのにやってくれたし、しかもわざわざ行くような場所じゃないエリアだったから本当に感銘を受けたよ。
ムーキーは最高の男だ。

Mookie is the shit. An old job I used to work at a few years ago we took these adults with disabilities out bowling two times outta the week during the evenings
Lo and behold one night Mookie was there by himself bowling. My group was freaking out and kept making comments about Mookie and my staff and I tried to leave Mookie alone.
He didn’t have to do this but he did come by for a bit and said hello and fist bumped our guys and then went about his day. Really cool considering he didn’t have to do that and this was in the 805 which is outta the way to go to.

周りの人たちの一日を忘れられないものにできるって、もはや特殊能力だよな。人前に出るとき常に「オン」でいなきゃいけないのは疲れるだろうけど、レーンでのあの一日が忘れられない思い出になったんだし、やったことといえば数回グータッチしただけ。本当に素晴らしい話だ。

Being able to make everybody else's day memorable is a super power. I get that it must be tiring to always have to be "on" when out in public, but that day at the lanes became an unforgettable memory and all it took was a few fist bumps. Awesome stuff.

Its been a while but I believe Derek Carr's kid was at valley children's for a bit. I used to live in Fresno and my buddy's daughter was there for a while and he said he would run into Derek. But yeah he still goes back.

そうそう、娘さんのために通ってたときに、自分がそこにいる子どもたちにとってどれだけの存在なのか気づいたらしい。だから他に何もない火曜日にわざわざ立ち寄るようにしてたんだ。ネットフリックスを見るよりも、子どもたちを喜ばせることのほうがずっと大事だって気づいたんだよ。

Yups, is was when he would go for his daughter is when he realized what he meant to those kids there. That's why he made it point to stop in on a Tuesday when he had nothing else to do. He realized the joy on this kids was much more important than watching netflix
