Yep. this way, if it goes 5 games, we will have lefties pitching 3 of the 5 games. And, no matter, what, we will have Yama fresh and ready to start the NLCS.
Interesting question will be game 2 starter -- presumably Yama, followed by Snell, and, if needed, Glasnow, and Skubal.

Honestly, you could go either way with Snell and Yamamoto for 2 and 3.
Both options lineup Snell for Game 1 of the NLCS (if the NLDS goes 5 games) and Yamamoto for NLCS game 2. The other factors to consider might be which order lines up Yamamoto better for relief in NLDS Game 5, which game you’d rather use more bullpen arms in assuming Snell won’t give you the length Yama will, and which starter you would rather have in Atl vs LA.
