ファンにとっては、敵チームの選手は「敵」であるべきだろ。フィールド上では、もしかしたらそう考えてる選手もいるかもしれない。でもオフの時間には、彼らは同じスポーツを愛するただの男たちだ。おそらく情報交換したり、つながりを作ったり、お互いをオタクみたいに褒め称えたり（気前が良ければちょっとしたコツを教えたりもする）だろうね。これは、ファンがスポーツをどう見ているかと、メジャーリーグの選手がどう見ているかとの間にある、はっきりとした違いを思い出させるよ。
to fans, players of opposing teams should be "enemies" - and that's probably how some (maybe most?) players view other teams on the field. but off hours, they're just guys who love the same sport and are probably willing to talk shop, network, and geek out over each other (and, if feeling generous, trade a few tips). just reminds me of the stark difference between how fans view the sport vs. how major league players view the sport.

Especially with the business involved in professional sports when it comes to trades and free agency, most players can’t get too caught up in “hating” other players like the fans do. One day you might hate a guy, the next day you could end up being his teammate and vice/versa.

彼らがファンの世界からどれだけかけ離れているか、面白いね。彼らにとっては仕事なんだし、どんな仕事でも良い環境で、選手が評価されて、もちろん給料が良いところに行くもんさ。プロアスリートは俺たちには決して垣間見ることのできない、独自の選ばれたエリート集団に属しているんだ。
It’s funny how far removed these guys are from fandoms. It’s a job to these guys and like any job you go where there is a good environment, as player are appreciated and of course pay. Pro athletes are in their own separate elite fraternity that the rest of us won’t ever get a glimpse of.

On Mookie's podcast show, he basically said it's a big brotherhood because it's an exclusive club of the elite talent in the world that 99.999% of people will never understand the inner workings of. The talent. The commitment. The pressure. There's an unspoken camaraderie there that transcends the rivalries. And let's be real. American sports are franchises, and while rivalries exist, they're very very rarely written in blood like many other sports across the world.

It just seems that Yada-sensei's method would require patience before we see consistent and positive output, which might not align with Mookie's need of immediate effect.

ロキは103マイルの投げ方を教えてもらってるのか。日本のプロ野球での最速は102.5マイルだったし、MLBのボールだと101.8マイル（WBCを含めると101.9マイル）が最高だもんな。

I love seeing opposing players hanging out, it reminds us that it's just a game. My parents used to get pissed af when I would say hi to my friends from school or wherever before games and I never understood why.

Here's a short interview from Miz. As for why he’s drawn to Sasaki, he revealed, “It’s really similar to what I’m doing. We share a lot of the same ideas, especially when it comes to extension, timing and pitching mechanics. It’s interesting to see a pitcher over there doing something similar, and it’s great to be able to talk with him and hear his perspective.”
