監督がやってる打撃レッスンに行ったことあるよ。最高の指導者なんだ！ユース世代の育成に長年携わってて、メッツのマイナーで打撃コーチも務めていたんだよね。

ちょっと残念だけど、全員アメリカ人だったとしても国が世界大会で活躍すれば、野球への関心を広めるのに役立つと思うな。20年後にWBCでプレイするイタリア人たちが、2026年が野球を始めるきっかけだったって振り返ってくれるといいよね。

It’s a bit of a shame, but I think having your country perform in a tournament, even with only americans playing, can help bring interest to the sport. I hope that in 20 years there will be a bunch of italians, playing in the WBC for their country, who point at 2026 as the reason why they ever considered playing baseball.

ちなみにそんなチームはどこにもないし、ほぼ全てのチームに外国生まれの選手がいるよ。単に野球の普及がまだそこまで進んでないだけだろ。

There aren’t any of those btw and almost every single team has foreign born players, baseball simply isn’t that popular enough yet.

そうそう、彼らが望んでるのは文字通り1回コールド負けみたいな展開だろ。
それは最高だ、半分以上の試合が1回で10-0終了とかになったら野球人気爆上がりだよな（白目）。観客は試合開始10分で速攻帰るのが大好きだろうよ。そこそこ戦える代表チームを組めるほど、まだ野球は普及してないんだよ。
「枠を奪ってる」とか言うけど、サッカーみたいに世界中で普及してて無数の国が枠を争ってるわけじゃないんだからw

Yeah what they want is literally just 1st inning mercy rule.
Great, that's really good to grow the game when more than half the games will be like 10-0 1st inning ends. Fans will love to come to a game and immediately leave 10 minutes in. It's not popular enough that you can just fill a squad up to even remotely compete.
"Taking away a spot", this isn't soccer that is global enough that a ton of countries are battling for spots lol.
