He was DFA'd by Oakland, the Dodgers got him off the scrap heap. As much as I love what he has meant to the Dodgers, he's not obvious HOF material, let's not get delusional. Or at least, let's get informed about his career numbers and the general qualifications for getting into the HOF. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets to 300 HR before he retires, but 1500 hits is about where he'll cap out. Maybe he'll make it in someday through the veterans' committee, but the writers will not vote him in.

I agree completely. What a player did for the team doesn't weigh into a HOF nod (that's what MVP award is for), all the voters see and care about are the players stats. He'll most certainly be in the Dodgers HOF and may even retire his number, he has records with the team that may never be broken, at least not for many years!
