久保建英について説明すると、彼は幼少期から「天才少年」としてずっと注目されてきたんだ（本人たちはこの呼び方を嫌うことも多いけど）。幼い頃にスペインへ渡って超名門のユース組織に入ったのは、当時としてはかなり異例のことだった。数年間を除いて基本的にはスペインで技術を磨いてプロになり、EUでプレーする傍ら日本代表を引っ張るスター選手の一人になった。
サッカーを普段見ない俺でも、彼がスペインに移籍してからはニュースでよく名前を見かけたな。もちろん他にもスター選手はいるけど、俺の知る限り日本の「元サッカー少年」であんなに長くこれほど注目され続けてる選手は他にいないよ。
ちなみに、トップクラスの俳優・芸能人がプロアスリートと結婚するのは別に珍しいことじゃないしね。

For some info on Kubo Takefusa, people have kept their eye on Kubo since he was just a kid as he was considered gifted (I know athletes tend to hate that description). In a rare move at the time, he went off to live in Spain to join a top prestigeous youth program when he was still very young. And except for a few years, essentially grew his skills and became a professional there and in addition to playing in the EU, is one of the star players on the Japanese national team.
I don't really follow soccer but his name would pop up on the news every once in a while since the time he moved to Spain. Of course there are other star players but no other Japanese child soccer (it's called soccer in Japan, not football) athlete that I'm aware of has held this kind of interest for so long.
Worth noting, it's not unusual for top actors / celebrities to marry pro athletes.
