打撃は長い期間かなり貧打だったぞ。全体数字はニコの好スタートとブレグマンのラスト1ヶ月、PCAが打ちまくった時期で底上げされてるだけだ。
シーズンの大半でブレグマンとハップが残塁数トップ5に入ってたのを忘れてないか？ ランナーを進めるのに苦労しすぎだっただろ。

The offense was very anemic for long stretches. Overall the stats are inflated by Nico's hot start, Bregmans last month and stretches where PCA was on fire.
Seems yall forget that for most of the season bregman and happ was in the top 5 for runners left on. We struggled way too often to move runners

I will say that I think the offense was good last year, but I’ll also say our stats were boosted by like 5 games where we scored 15 or more runs. We were overall really inconsistent, Bregman and PCA were both really bad in the first bit of the season as well

What about when a team scores 2 or 3 runs a game? Cubs had 35 games where they scored 2 or 3 runs, the Brewers had 48 such games. A team that scores 0 or 1 runs has about a 5% chance of winning, thus you can argue in those games the offense isn't giving the team a chance to win. But a team that scores 2 or 3 runs has about a 31% chance of winning. Not great, but a hell of a lot better than 5%.
Also, I bring up the Cubs having 26 games of scoring 0 or 1 runs because as a top scoring offense, it is the most by a top scoring offense this century.

Well it was bad in the last 7 games of the year that mattered. 2, 2, 2, 3, 0, 0, and 1 runs scored. So that’s what people are going to remember.
I tend to think that was more of an anomaly and the pitching would have let them down anyways

People said the offense was bad even before the playoffs and the last week so its not that their memory is bad. Its that they don’t think leading the league in several offensive categories over the full season is good. Which I disagree with
