このシーズン終盤に今井を先発させるのは、監督の職務怠慢だ。できれば大差のついた試合でイニングを稼ぐ役（イニングイーター）として温存すべき。来年はもっと良くなるかもしれないが、プレーオフ争いの真っ只中に、15先発で防御率5点台以上の選手を信頼する余裕はない。制球を改善して、四球を減らさないとダメだ。奪三振率は11.1と優秀だが、与四球率が5.8。これでは成功できないぞ。
Starting Imai would be managerial malpractice at this point in the season. He should be reserved for blowouts as an innings-eater if possible. Maybe next year he'll be better, but in the midst of a playoff race, we can't afford to trust a guy with a 5+ ERA in 15 starts. He has got to show better control and not walk so many guys. His K/9 is solid at 11.1, but his BB/9 is 5.8. That isn't a recipe for success.
いや本当、完全に同意するよ。なぜ球団がこういう起用をしているのかは分かっている。ただ、契約した時から今井がどれだけ落ちぶれてしまったかを強調したかっただけなんだ。ローテーション中間クラスの先発から、ブルペン要員へ。なんてがっかりなFA補強だったんだ。

No yeah i definitely agree. I understand why they’re doing this. Im just highlighting how far Imai has fallen since his signing. From a mid rotation starter, to a bullpen guy. What a disappointing FA signing he has been.
俺は、こっちのルーティンを把握して、違うボールの感覚に慣れてくれば、来年は立て直してくれると本気で信じていますよ。
I actually have faith that he'll put it together next year as he figures out his routine over here and gets a better feel for the different baseball.
オフシーズンには今井と村上の両方に多くの疑問符がついていた気がする。だから二人はアストロズとホワイトソックスに行くことになったんだ。村上を疑っていた人は全員間違っていたが、今井を疑っていた人たちは正しかったかもしれないな（来シーズンは今井が好転してくれることを願うけど）。
I feel like there were a lot of question marks about both Imai and Murakami in the offseason. It’s why those guys ended up with the Astros and White Sox. Everyone who doubted Murakami was wrong but the Imai doubters look like they might’ve been right (hopefully Imai turns it around next season though).
前回の日本人フリーエージェント市場は投手ではなく打者が主役だったな。村上と岡本の二人が最高のFA補強として台頭した。せっかく日本の野球市場を試してみることにしたのに、大失敗に終わってしまったか。
This last Japanese free agent market was dominated by batters, not pitchers. Both Murakami and Okamoto emerged as the top best free agent acquisitions. For once we decided to try the Japanese baseball market and it turned out to be a terrible failure
まだ2登板だけなのは分かっていますが、ブルペンからの登板では素晴らしく見えます。6イニングで無失点、3被安打、8奪三振、2四球。ここから成績が落ちないとは言えませんが、きっかけを掴んでくれたと願うばかりです。
I know it is only 2 appearances but he has looked fantastic out of the bullpen. 0R, 3H, 8K/2BB in 6IP. Can't expect him to not regress from there, but can only hope he has turned a corner.

うちは勝率5割で地区首位にいる。大金を投じたり、プロスペクトや主力をトレードに出したりするような、まさに「今すぐ勝つべき」シーズンではないんだ。球団はデイナ・ブラウンを解雇して、毎シーズンその場しのぎの解決策を買うのではなく、長期的な成功を築ける人物を雇うべきだ。
We're on top of the division with a .500 record. This isn't exactly a "win now" season where you throw a lot of money or trade prospects or products players. They have to fire Dana Brown and get someone to build long-term success, instead of buying band-aid solutions every season.
デイナは今年、レンタル移籍の選手のためにトッププロスペクトを放出しないことで、まさにそれを実行したという見方もあるよ。
There’s an argument that Dana did just this by not paying our top farm hands for rental this year.

一応言っておくが、メジャーリーグで最悪の選手であっても、地球上のメジャー以外のほぼすべての選手よりは優れているんだよな。
Just a reminder that even the worst MLBer is better than basically every other non-MLB player on earth.
選手の入れ替え、昇格、いわゆるトレードといったこうした動きは、デイナ・ブラウンが自分のクビを繋ぎ止めてくれるものを期待して、下手な鉄砲を数打っているだけにすぎない。凡庸なGM＝凡庸な監督＝凡庸なチームだ。
These moves with players back and fourth , call ups and so called trades is just Dana Brown seeing what will stick to the wall in hopes one will save his job. Average GM= Average Manager= Average Team.
お節介なオーナー以外の全員が責められているのが奇妙だよな。

史上最高の監督を連れてきたとしても、現状よりはるかに良くなるとは思えない。チームで2番目の強打者は練習中に脚を痛めた。功労者の打者は衰えている。ヨルダン以外のロースターはどっちつかずだ。原因はエスパーダ監督なのか？ それともより良い戦力を与えなかったGMの失態なのか？
I really don't think if you had the best manager ever you'd end up much better than where we are at right now. Your second best hitter had their leg blow up in practice. Your legacy hitter is declining. The rest of the roster outside of Yordan is wishy washy. Is Espada the cause? Or is it a GM failure for not providing better tools?

Just because Espada is not personally responsible for every failing of this team doesn't make him an above-average manager
でも本当に、どうやってそれを判断するんだ？ 何が監督を「平均以上」にするんだよ。2024年には最悪の勝敗記録から巻き返してプレーオフに進出した。それなら素晴らしい監督と言えるんじゃないか？ 今シーズンも凡庸なロースターでありながらプレーオフ争いをしている。それなら名将だろ？
But like genuinely, how can you know? What makes someone an above-average manager? We came back from one of the worst W/L records in 2024 to make playoffs, wouldn't that make him a great manager? Even this season with a mediocre roster, we are in contention for playoffs, wouldn't that make him a great manager?
チャンドラーは特に今井をク○叩きにするのが大好きだが、そもそもチーム全体のことが嫌いなんだろうな。それが本当に伝わってくる。あいつは本当に嫌な奴だよ。
Chandler loves to shit on Imai in particular but damn he just hates the team in general and it really comes across. He's such a douche.
