I’m not saying their run itself wasn’t good, but even the local ratings in Phoenix showed underperformance compared to other World Series host cities.
White Sox only won 84 games this year but had a great stretch run (8-2 final 10) and guys like Murakami getting a lot of attention. They’ve had over 100 years of building a fanbase in a city known for insane fans. They were the worst team in history 2 years ago. There’s just a lot to latch onto and make people care about.
