契約当初は、強力な打線をさらに良くする存在だと思われていた。まさか彼が（ほぼ一人で）チームを前半戦乗り切らせる存在になるとは、誰も想像してなかっただろうな。
When he was signed, it looked like he might help improve a strong offensive lineup. I don’t think anyone would imagine he would be one one to (almost singlehandedly) keep the team above water for the first half.
