What's funny this year is that because of the injuries most of the MVPs aren't the big contract signings of the past couple years. With the exception of the obvious Shohei and Yama, the heroes this season have been Pages, Muncy, Wrobo, Freddie and to a lesser extent Rushing (given the Doyers apparently don't have any catching talent in the minors).

私の理解では、論理は同じ。最高の打者の打席数を最大化するために1番に置く。違いは「最高の打者」の定義が、高打率から高長打率（スラッギング）に変わったことだ。
From my understanding, the logic is still the same. You want to maximize the number of At-bats of your best hitters, which is why they are at #1. The difference is the definition of best hitter, it was high BA to high slugging. This is how I understood the change.
最も多くの打席を与えるに値する「コンタクトヒッター」が減ったため、強打者を1番に置いて打席数を稼ぎ、コンタクトヒッターを8〜9番に置いて同じ目的を遅れて果たしているんだ。村上のように四球を選べるスラッガーなら、打率が.210でも出塁率が高ければ1番打者として最適だ。
guess is that there's just a lot less definitionally "contact hitters" that's good enough to justify earning the most at-bats now, so the power hitters bat first to squeeze as much at-bats as possible, while the contact hitters goes to 8-9 to more or less serve the same purpose with a delay It also makes more sense if your slugger is good at getting walks like Murakami has been all season. If they get on base often enough they're good as a first batter, even if their batting average looks like .210

That save by Freddie in the 6th inning prevented a wide throw that would have gone by a lesser first baseman and possibly cleared the bases, but Freddie was able to react to the throw, catch it. and dropped his glove onto the runner to tag him out. The highlight of this highlight for me.

Today was a good challenge for Roki to know the pressure of post-season or world series if we lead but he has the bases loaded and he will learn to overcome it, learn how to improve and battle. He will succeed.

Absolutely. There is no other team that has both the resources and the institutional knowledge to help Roki thrive. Strong team resources well versed in helping players grow whether that’s strictly baseball skills or culturally related adjustments. And great teammates who have each others backs. Roki might have easily crashed out on a lesser team.
彼がすでに優勝争いにおいて大きな役割を果たしていることを忘れている人がいるのが信じられない。先発として完全に立ち直っていなくても、彼はチームにとって非常に価値のある存在だ。彼が本来の力を発揮しつつあるのは、本当に嬉しい限りだよ。
What gets me are the people that act like he’s not already played a huge role in a championship run. Even if he never turned it around as a starter, he’s already been invaluable to the team. Him coming into his own is icing on the cake for me.

朗希は大量の援護点に驚いたのか、次のイニングで少し崩れてしまったね（笑）。スミスが離脱している中、過去のミスから学んでチームに貢献しているラッシングは大いに評価されるべきだ。ポストシーズンに向けてディアスが調子を上げる時間はまだあるが、スネルやグラスノーは時間が足りず、大谷もここ数週間は不安要素になるかもしれない。
Roki so shocked at the run support he went off the rails the next inning. 😀 Rushing deserves some credit as he's obviously learned from past mistakes and has really stepped up with Will out. He's getting more confident, less emotional and becoming a better teammate. Enough time for Diaz to get locked in for the playoffs, yet time is running out for Snell and Glasnow, and now even Shohei might be a question mark for the next couple weeks.
