I just hope the change in cb partner helps. After Stones lost the ability to kick a ball, pairing him with Dias brought it back. Less so with Maguire, but we are seeing a resurgence now.

Add defensive cover without paying a fee, if they can get the old Araujo out of him they will be happy to pay, if not they've had cover when they desperately need eded it and can send him back to Spain. Seems like a win/win.

Seems like a no downside move. Experienced cover in two positions that we desperately need cover in and if he’s actually good? €55mil doesn’t get you very far anymore so it doesn’t take much for him to be worth it. If he’s not great? He’s a body that we desperately need and you ship him off next summer and forget about it.

I’m not overly hopeful but realistically he’s at best 3rd choice at CB and 2nd choice at RB (3rd when Bradley comes back). Then on that basis it’s hard for him to straight up fail unless he’s injured all year.

I’m actually pretty excited tbh. I’ve heard a lot of Barca fans say the only reason he looked suspect at times was because he couldn’t play in Flick’s ridiculously high line. I’m hopeful he’ll be back to his best playing for us.
