In my opinion, the injuries messed up momentum. Obviously, the lack of starters directly lost them games, but it had a bigger impact on momentum. Same with the position player injuries

I agree with you. Don't think GIDP is that significant though. People with similar GIDP numbers hit top of the order all the time, Freeman, Caminero, Harper etc.

知らなかったら驚くかもしれないけど、ブラディの折れたバットでのヒットは、バットが回転しながらまたボールに当たり、ホームプレートの20フィート（約6メートル）手前でボールを捉え直したんだ。そのおかげで打球方向が二塁手から3-4間へと変わったんだよ。🤯
If you didn’t know, on Vladdy’s broken bat single, the lumber spun around, caught up, and hit the ball 20 feet in front of home plate. Changing the direction from at the second baseman to in the 3-4 hole. 🤯

They had so many windows of opportunity to squeeze into that wildcard spot & blew it. I love our team, been a fan for decades… but this season was a stinker. The true bright lights this year have been Kaz, Dylan, Brandon, Louis & Brett. Occasionally Springer, Clement and Lukes who I adore. I was so hopeful, believing they could make it to the playoffs, dig deep, find that grit we’ve seen before & go for it especially after last year’s incredible, memorable run. Losing by mere inches should have given them enough confidence, motivation & determination to come back stronger.
I know there were injuries, like every team has to deal with but they truly lacked lustre for the majority of their games. Big huge sigh 😔

父がその試合を録画してたんだけど、鳥が爆発した瞬間から1時間くらいは他のことなんてどうでもよくなったよ。少なくとも1時間は何度も何度もテープを再生したんだ！プフッ！鳥が消えた！次の日、笑いすぎてお腹が痛かったよ。
My dad recorded that game and when that bird exploded, nothing else mattered for at least an hour. We kept replaying that tape for at least an hour! Poof! No bird!
My stomach hurt the next day from laughing for so long.

I’ve seen instances where the ball has hit the bat twice due to the bat breaking, but it was just splintered yet remained whole. I think I remember an old Hunter Pence hit that did this. It made the ball kind of spin as it left the bat. I’ve never seen anything like this though, honestly incredible.
