試合を観に行ったよ。僕にとっては初めてのプロサッカー観戦だったんだけど、雰囲気は最高に盛り上がってたね。今まで行ったどんなスポーツイベントよりもすごかった。アルゼンチンを応援してたんだけど、スイスが一人少ない状況でよく粘り、あそこまで持ちこたえたのには本当に感心したよ。PK戦まであと一歩だったし、そうなればまた五分五分だったのに。

I was at the game. It was my first ever professional soccer match. The atmosphere was electric. More than any other sporting event I’ve ever attended. I was pulling for Argentina, but Switzerland really impressed me with their resilience holding strong down a man for as long as they did. They were so close to getting it to penalties and evening the playing field again.

The big mistake the referee made was giving yellow against the Argentinian player for something that looked like a regular foul and surely not a yellow card. THAT was the mistake, not the VAR review that follow and yellow/red for Embrolo. Without the first mistake, there’s no VAR and the game goes on. Just another shitty referee at this World Cup

I mean, the correct thing would've been him just seeing the horrible dive and giving him the yellow card. Luckily for everyone, we got the same result, even through imperfect refereeing.

It would have been a yellow card anyway if the referee did notice the dive to start with. You want the referee to not notice the dive so that your scenario plays out. Him not noticing the dive is not a refereeing mistake for you? That was the real mistake.

泣いてないよ、スイスを誇りに思う。レッドカードが出るまでは彼らの方がいいプレーをしてたし、その後もアルゼンチンの2対1っていう夢のようなゴールが決まるまではコントロールできてた。素晴らしいゴールだった。俺たちはアルゼンチンみたいなチームと互角に渡り合えたんだ、スイスにとってはものすごいことだよ。イエローレッドは正しかった。馬鹿なルールだけど正しい。それ以外はレフェリーがひどかった、スイスにばかり何でも笛を吹いて、アルゼンチンにはほとんど何もなしだった。

I’m not crying, I’m proud of the Swiss. They played better until the red card, and even then they had it under control until the dream 2:1 for Argentina. Great goal. We had them, that’s massive for Switzerland to be up there with a team like Argentina. The yellow red was correct. It’s a dumb rule but it’s correct. Besides that the referee was terrible c calling everything for Switzerland and barely anything for Argentina.

They played well. I'd say rookie mistake. A more veteran player probably doesn't dive. I'm not sure the result is different but the pace and tempo would surely have been different. Not having the key play maker due to injury was tough too. I'm not sure what people want, the quarterfinals were just about the top 8 in the world right now and that is how the games went. Think it was just tears of everything hitting all at once. Let the team down, got caught cheating, and world cup over. It's a game. Nobody physically got hurt from the dive and that's the game sometimes to get away with it, despite that needing to be out of the game. Embolo is allowed to make a mistake and we play on.

Yeah hardest. Messi and Scaloni were crying like little babies for winning against Egypt. We didn't see them cry like this vs Cape Verde. Against Cape, Argentina always found ways to score throughout the match. Against Egypt, they were living in a nightmare and it seemed over till the last moments.
