The only thing the scouting report got right is that he is a three true outcome player. They also overmagnified his flaws by a lot and underrated his strengths it felt like. His plate discipline and walk rate is incredible and yet they mentioned it like it was some minor footnote when talking about him.

It is legit insane how good he is at it because that was the biggest knock for him coming out of the npb. I bet some of it is because teams just expected him to regress eventually so guys that threw hard but straight were throwing more fastballs, but can you imagine how good this guy would have been if he was facing (and could adapt to) mlb level velocity younger? What a freak
