Interesting. Seems like both teams are also good in 1 run games/clutch situations. Lots of parallels. 05 had 4 starters that you just dont see in the league anymore. They could eat so many innings. That team also had a Japanese phenom - two actually, Iguchi, and Mr. Zero.

The 05 team was fourth in the AL with 200 homeruns. Everyone seems to forget that they scored how the Sox typically do, they just combined it with elite pitching for one year.

05年のソックス投手陣は現実離れしていた。特にプレイオフではね。85年のベアーズをありがたがるには若すぎたが、05年に俺たちのチームが勝ったときは完全に狂喜乱舞したよ。

‘05 Sox pitching staff was unreal; especially in the playoffs. I was too young to appreciate the ‘85 Bears, but I absolutely lost it when our boys won in ‘05.

あの乱闘の試合、球場にいたよ！キース・フォークがマジでブチギレてた！第163試合（ブラックアウト・ゲーム）にもいた。生の野球観戦であれ以上の熱気は見たことない。ブルーラインとレッドラインの間のジャクソン・トンネルを歩いていたとき、みんな黒を着てて、バケツを叩く少年が演奏してて、まるで新興宗教の儀式に向かうみたいだったのを今でも覚えてる（プレイオフの試合にはまだ行ったことないが）

I was at the brawl game! Keith Foulke went nuts! Was also at game 163 (the blackout game). Most electric baseball atmosphere I’ve ever seen live. Still remember walking through the Jackson tunnel between the blue line and red line and everyone wearing black and a bucket boy was playing and it looked like we were about to attend some sort of cult ritual (Still have not attended a playoff game)

Man even remembering watching that game is giving me chills. Danks dominated and of course the Ken Griffey assist. That was peak Sox fandom coming out of 2005. Just wish Quentin could have stayed healthy and we could have went far in those playoffs.

Ha I did the same walk through the tunnel and remember hearing the drums and it remedied me of the opening scene to Gangs of New York.

And remember game 1 contraras pitched 8 1/3 innings too literally in that's series the bullpen got 2 outs in 5 games. Absolutely Incredible.

Yea, those early 90s teams got young me to switch from Cubs to sox, but then the strike turned me off to baseball completely until around 98 with the steroid hr race. Looking back the league must have known, but couldn't say no to all the attention baseball was getting

All of this was me too, except when I got back into baseball. It wasn’t until 2005 for me. I switched my Summer viewing exclusively to soccer in the 1994 World Cup, and the Fire winning 6 major trophies in their first nine seasons kept my interest. I felt we were owed 2005 after 1994, and I buried my hatchet with baseball.

94年はショックだった。93年よりもパワーアップしててWSで勝てたかもしれなかった。あのストライキの後、再び野球を見るようになるまで数年かかったよ。

94 was devastating, they improved upon 93 and could have won WS that year. It took me a couple years to watch baseball again after that strike.

77年のサウスサイド・ヒットメンが俺にとって一番楽しかったな。俺はマジでジジイだから。コミスキー・パークは盛り上がってた。ハリーの実況に、外野席でのシャワーや散髪。16歳のガキでも問題なくビールを買えて1安打ゲームを楽しめた。最高だったぜ！

77 SS Hitmen was the most fun for me. I’m old AF. Comiskey was on fire. Harry announcing, showers and haircuts in the bleachers. 16 year old kids getting beers with no problem and taking one hitters. Oyy!!

I was too young for the '77 team but the '90 team was what made me a Sox fan. Would have won the East that year by 6 games with their record. Thomas transformed the offense and Thiggy closing things in the 9th made it a really fun season. Lot of close games obv.
