I thought Kyogo Furuhashi would be good for Birmingham but apparently that hasn’t been the case, but you can go and read the various posts from Celtic supporters who will have nothing but good things to say about Maeda. Aye it’s not the best standard going but Celtic Park is a highly pressured environment where you are expected to win every match. It is certainly a crucible for some top talent.
前田の運動量はマジで異常だから、技術面が上のリーグで通用しなくても、最悪でもプレミアリーグのレベルで穴を埋められるブレンデン・アーロンソンみたいな選手としては使えるはず。
Maeda has insane work ethic, so even if his technical ability doesn't translate to a better league, at worst you get a Brendan Aaronson type player who can fill a gap at Prem Level.

only saw him in wc and some champions league matches last year. When pressing, this guy did not stop running when the ball was there for the taking at the wc. And was always good for a shot in a shoot happy celtic, from my memory of the celtic club brugge match. iirc, An analyst on bbc called him a energizer bunny. I find it an apt assessment. Will be fun tomsee him work in pl this year

At least you guys are improving your squad - can only be a net benefit I reckon. So far we've had our best 2 players leave on a free and we've only signed a 19 year old to play in our academy 🙃🥲. Your showing ambition at least and I think maeda will bag a few! Ps. Diop is a decent defender he just drops a clanger every 5 or so games. But when he's on it he's unstoppable

One year left on his contract, minimal resale value due to his age, not already being in the Premier League, and Kyogo being very underwhelming in moving from Scotland to England (ignoring his brief detour in France) all probably take a bit off the price tag. If he was 24 and already at an English club you could easily see that fee tripled.

If it helps reassure in any way, there were rumours Brentford were in for him last summer, but the deal fell through because the Celtic board couldn’t sign a replacement in time. ( Plus ça change…) I feel like he played a key role in giving Bayern a scare a couple of years back (though also displayed some errant finishing).

俺は「数値化できない貢献」を過大評価するタイプじゃないんだけど、目に見えて闘志があってこれだけハードワークしてくれる選手がチームにいるのは、残留争いをするチームにとって良いアイデアだと思う。周りには（フィロジーンやファタウみたいな）気まぐれな天才たちがいるわけだしね。それに、チームが押し込まれてコンパクトに守らなきゃいけないとき、彼は90分間ずっとボールを追いかけ回してくれるだろう。
I'm not a huge "intangibles" guy but having someone in the team who has such visible belief and works this hard seems like a good idea for a relegation battler with some mercurial talent around him (Philogene, Fatawu). And when they are pegged back and have to be compact, he can probably chase the ball for all 90 minutes.
