Most teams should be going into the World Cup knowing they’re not going to win. Theres usually only a half dozen teams that have a real shot. Everybody else is trying to show their best. Losing to Brazil in soccer is never a shameful act.

Americans and Australians and whoever else will use their term for it. The rest of the world can use another term for it. We can coexist and the original poster of the comment can call it what it’s called in their dialect of English.

Plenty of Americans love the sport just as much as you do and instead of sharing in the love the game you’re focused on a word. You lot will talk about how “soccer/football/the World Cup brings the world together like nothing else” in one breath and complain about what word a country calls the game the next, for what? They look so sad. I felt so sad when they lost. Same day I went through Germany vs Paraguay and it was equally heartbreaking to see not sides in their knees when the other goaled. God I'm too emotional to watch FIFA (I'm a girl) and now I understand what emotions guys might go through when they've been watching the game and their favourites for years.
