Newcomb was a starter last year lol. Our bullpen is built for a lot of multi inning appearances. Even Hicks was recently a starter. Fedde was sort of a starter this year for a while. Schultz and Hagen Smith both started multiple games at AAA or majors.

It helps that we're getting a lot of innings per reliever. We've had 19 pitcher-appearances so far these playoffs and 9 have gone for 2+ innings. The distribution of days off has also been to our advantage. If we'd gone to three against Houston that would've been a stressor, and if we'd played yesterday instead of today then there's no way Taylor's available for it.
