過大評価っていうのは下手な選手という意味じゃない。彼は凄く良い選手だよ。でも、数年前にエンゼルスでプレーオフにすら行けなかったのに、猫も杓子も彼を野球の神様と呼ぶのは異常だ。例えばこの動画を見てみろよ。ドジャースが10点取れたのは打線全体が強力だからだ。翔平は良い選手だし、今最も活躍してる選手だと言ってもいい。でも彼を崇拝しすぎるから『過大評価』って言われるんだ。

Overrated doesnt mean he’s a bad player. He’s good, very good. But everyone and their mother calling him the god of baseball when a few years ago in the Angels he cant even reach the playoffs is insane.

Look at this clip for example, LA got 10 runs because their entire lineup in stacked. Shohei is good, you can argue the best active player today. But worshipping the guy is why he’s “overrated”.

The hip lock is their base-hit celebration, the swaying hands followed by the hip lock is when an extra base-hit happens.
Supposedly, the hip lock was just a funnier way of an exercise that they do often while the swaying hands was (as someone else mentioned) a mimic of Freeman’s atrocious (according to his teammates) dance skills.
