Imai has a tremendous amount of talent, but he's obviously having a difficult time adjusting to the MLB. If he's really serious about making it in the MLB, he's going to be an all-star level pitcher. How long that may take, and if it will be with the Astros, are still in question.

野球の成績サイトで細かいスタッツを調べる方法はよく分からないんだけど、今井の最初の2イニングと3イニング目以降の比較を見てみたい。試合の立ち上がりはいつも苦戦しているように見えるけど、そこを乗り越えれば安定する気がする。メンタルの問題なのか、登板前のルーティンの問題なのかは分からないけどね

I haven't figured our how to search niche specific stats on baseball reference but I'd love to see a comparison of Imai in the first two innings and from the 3rd inning on. It seems like he's always struggling if he's pitching early in a game but once/if he gets past that he's solid. idk if that's mental or an issue of his pregame routine.

The guy is fascinating, because, despite having an ERA above 5, he still has a 6-4 W/L ratio. When he's good, he's really good, and clearly when he's not on top of his game, then he can blow it before evening recording an out.
