I think the injury really thew him off though, he had to find his rhythm again afterwards and it took awhile. If he never got injured he might have a much better slashline.

Murakami is still getting used to MLB pitchers. Sugano is an exception because they played in the same league for years. And Murakami isn't the type who would be happy with 40s. He wore #55 at Yakult Swallows and Japan National Team for a reason. That was the jersey of Hideki Matsui at Yomiuri Giants, and it originally comes from OH Sadaharu's homerun record in NPB, which Murakami broke.

アブレイユのキャリアの巡り合わせには同情するよ。ホワイトソックス時代は本当にいい打者で、しかも皆勤に近いくらい怪我知らずだった。周りのチームがゴタゴタしてたと思ったら良くなって、また急に崩れて…ほんと不運としか言いようがない。
I always feel bad that Abreu was just out of sync in his career. He was a really good hitter for his time with the Sox, always played, rarely missed time. The teams around him were messy for a while, got good, then fell off the table. Just a shame.

If you had told me then that in 5 years, the Sox would make the playoffs with an entirely different roster and coaching staff, and most of the players on the 21 rosters careers would be over or basically dead, I wouldn't believe you.
21年との違いは投手力だな。でも2026年の野手陣の方が好きだし、今のチームの方が応援したくなるよ。
difference was the pitching in 2021. I like a lot of the 2026 offensive pieces more than 21, but man, what if we had a starting rotation.
