It reminds me of what Orel said during yesterday's game. Something alone the lines of "You're not only investing in the skillset of a player, but the character of the player as well." The dude overcame multiple deaths in his family, became the hottest young pitcher in Japan, to now playing for the Dodgers. Who knows what his ceiling will be at the end of the post season this year, and the '27 season. Okay enough Roki glazing for me today! 😅

Roki is a huge mental guy. Dude’s gone through some stuff in his personal life being affected by the great earthquake/tsunami a few years ago so I’ll always be rooting for him, hopefully he can find his footing quick in the postseason this year and become unsolvable to our opponents

最近のサンディエゴ戦でのブルペンゲームについてコメントしたんだけど、朗希がブルペンゲームで出てくるのって面白いね。バッターとしては、試合中に朗希が出てくるのを見たら、どれだけ士気が下がるか想像してみてよ。

I made a comment on the recent bullpen game against San Diego on how funny it is seeing Roki come out during a bullpen game. Imagine how demoralizing it must feel as a hitter to see Roki come out in the middle of a game.

朗希がクロネンワースに投げたのはすごかった。最初のスプリッターは低めに外したけど、次のミッドゾーンへのスプリッターで打者を見逃し三振に仕留めたんだ。最近では一番エキサイティングな試合の序盤だったね。

Roki pitching to Cronenworth was great. He missed low with the splitter and then got him looking with the next splitter mid zone. Most exciting Top 4 of a game in a while.

In the Japanese interview he said he appreciated the team continuing to start him even while he was struggling. And now that we are approaching the post season he just wants to help the team wherever he is needed

昨日NHKの放送でこれを聞いて、さらに感銘を受けたよ。佐々木が先発をしたがっているのはみんな知ってるのに、ロバーツ監督に、今のチームとポストシーズンでチームが必要としているのはリリーバーだから、代わりにブルペンで使ってほしいと頼んだと聞いて、心温まるし驚きだね。

Heard this on the NHK broadcast yesterday and I'm just even further impressed.
We all know Sasaki wants to start, so hearing he asked Roberts to use him as a reliever instead because that's what the team needs from him right now and in the postseason is both heartwarming and mindblowing.
